Torrevieja

Buying a house in Torrevieja? If you are looking to invest in an apartment, penthouse or villa in Torrevieja, we are here to help.

Torrevieja, widely known, the 3rd largest city on the Costa Blanca.

Torrevieja, a coastal town located in the south of the province of Alicante, borders the Mediterranean Sea and the lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja. Together they form a natural park of considerable ecological value. The city has a long history linked to salt mining, an industry that has been under the supervision of the Crown since the 18th century. The name ‘Torrevieja’ comes from an old watchtower that stood near the salt jetty and was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1829.

Places of interest in Torrevieja

Las Salinas de Torrevieja

Las Salinas de Torrevieja is a lake that sometimes seems to turn pink because of the salt. You can get here by car, or by a special train that takes you along the lake. It is also a nice place to do a simple walk. Do wear your old shoes because the paths around the lake can sometimes be quite muddy. You can also see various birds here, and of course the rippling water of the lake itself.

Dique de Levante

The Dique de Levante is a 1600 metre long pier that extends from the coast of Torrevieja into the Mediterranean Sea. At the end of the pier is also a lighthouse. After a walk along the boulevard you will automatically end up at this pier. If you can still bring yourself to walk to the lighthouse, you can look out over the sea from there and see the harbour of Torrevieja from a distance. Perfect for admiring the sunset, for example.

Museos flotantes Delfín S-61 y Albatros III

This small museum in the harbour of Torrevieja is situated in a submarine. For less than a few euros per person you can enter and take a look for yourself at what it was like under the sea. When you walk through the boat and see all the narrow nooks and crannies, the limited space in the corridors, you will hardly be able to imagine that there were no less than 56 people on board the submarine.

Waterparks

For those who need a bit more action than the calm waters of the Mediterranean, there are Aquapolis Torrevieja (info & tickets) and Aquapark Flamengo. In these two water parks there is more than enough swimming fun for everyone. There are slides and paddling pools. Something for everyone. Both parks are located near Torrevieja and are not expensive. They are easy to reach by car, and with their many attractions a fun day out for every family.
